Wheel Cleaning 101

Keeping your wheels clean is an important part of maintaining the overall appearance of your car. However, cleaning wheels can be a tedious task without the right tools and products. We always recommend cleaning the wheels first to keep your car from getting wet with brake dust and other grime once cleaned.

In this post, we provide a step-by-step guide to cleaning your wheels perfectly using Blackline's car cleaning products.

Step 1: Choose the right product
Blackline's All-in-One Wheel & Tire Cleaner is an excellent choice for cleaning wheels. It effectively removes brake dust, road grime, and other contaminants, leaving your wheels looking brand new. Additionally, Blackline's Trim & Tire Dressing can be used to protect and shine your tires after cleaning.

Step 2: Use the right brushes
Different brushes are needed for different parts of your wheels. Use a boars hair brush or an ultra soft brush for the face of the wheel and a stiff bristle tire brush for the tires. A wheel barrel brush can be used to clean the inner barrel of the wheel.

Step 3: Apply the product
Spray the All-in-One Wheel & Tire Cleaner onto the wheel and let it sit for a few seconds. Use the boars hair brush or ultra soft brush to agitate the cleaner and remove any grime. Get the wheel barrel brush in between each spoke and clean up the inside of the wheel to really make the difference. For the tires, apply the cleaner and scrub with a stiff bristle tire brush. Rinse the wheel and tire with water and repeat the process if necessary. Either air dry or use a microfiber towel to dry the wheel. Drying the wheel before you drive will remove any water that can turn into dirty water and splash back on your newly cleaned car.

Step 4: Apply the dressing
Once the wheel is dry, apply a small amount of Blackline's Trim & Tire Dressing onto an applicator pad and spread it evenly onto the tires. Use a clean microfiber towel to remove any excess product (that may get on the wheel).
